"War on Christmas" rages on in Colorado

The "War on Christmas" continued at full pace this year, with Mother Nature entering the fray in a surprise showing of her obvious anti-Christmas bias. Of course, I'm referring to the "Holiday Blizzard" (definitely not the "Christmas Blizzard") of 2006, which hit Colorado just as we were planning to drive back to the Midwest to visit family and friends, effectively stranding us and forcing us to spend Christmas on our own.

We still had a nice Christmas and didn't have to spend it completely alone. Turns out ours were not the only plans ruined by the weather, so we visited with several of our fellow stranded Front-Rangers during the long weekend. Also, in a sign that Christmas wasn't to be completely K.O.'d this round, I think we managed to talk on the phone with every one of our family members over the Christmas weekend (luckily Mother Nature is no match for Ma Bell, or whatever the phone company monopoly is called this year).

And because I am nearly incapable of properly remembering something without a photo, I had my camera with me at several points during the storm. Here are a couple photos taken mid-storm that I posted for the weather geeks on weather underground:

Though all-considered we did have a good Christmas, I'm afraid I have to award one point to the anti-Christmas side this year - and with the powers of Mother Nature apparently in their arsenal I'm left with a genuine concern for Christmas's-future...
